This moment is what placed this film in a top echelon amongst sci-fi genre films.....to truly marry the emotion with the science and technology = true genious. The final moment between Mother and and realized son brings me to tears every time.

I think with Davids ending after 2,000 years that passed, was very tramendiously beautiful and sad. But only for that one day being with Monica, which was the women that David cared and very much loved, brought him so much life, joy, and happiness. When Monca told David that she had always loved him, that was the everlasting moment that David had been waiting for her to say to him. That right there is my favorite scene of the movie. I love you Doug, "always & forever." I love him.....

haley joel osment is one of the most talented kid actors i've seen so far. he is just so full of emotion.

I never really like science fiction, but with this film there is an exeption. I never cry at films, this got to my heart so badly. I love it.

This scene is really a heart breaking for me.. It reminds us all that every moment that we have, every chances and opportunities.. we have to spend these moments to be with our love ones such as our mom..because they don't live forever.

i saw this movie yesterday it was beautiful

The Alien part is awesome they look cool and they talk with experience :D

@liquidhax yeah I know what you mean. I hate her sometimes, but this movie makes me wish to have a better mom or something. I don't know, I think everybody wants to have a mom who loves you and pays attention. The perfect mummy.

wow, this scene really hits home. yet its too heart wrenching to see if one understands the plot and theme of the movie.

if your mom means everything to you like mine-the tears will fall till the end of the scene

this film is the most i like

@DamitaJo87 exactly!

A poignant example of the essence of innocence and how tender love can be. An enduring masterpiece.

this movie is magnificent and perfect, in every way. loved the film from the day i saw it on tv. david lost his mum and his best friend, i couldnt imagine life like that. i will never forget this movie. :)

@ihijacky why he can talk? ....

just the music alone is enough to reach for the tissues. can you imagine never being able to see your mother again, but given just one last chance to say goodbye forever..?

So I haven't seen this movie since it came out, but I took the liberty to try and find it again as I had forgotten the name. Low and behold I find it...click the final scene I remember so well...and hell, I'm bawling my eyes out the moment he see's his mother...

why he can cry??!!

Steven Spielberg made me a fatality to my emotions with this movie <.: . .: . 3
