In a sea of rubbish "cinema" portrayed by Hollywood, mediocrity is king. Although this film has its flaws, it is truly the last great science fiction film since Blade Runner. Even though the quality between the two is vastly disproportionate.

@cuteybooti2 You know it's interesting. David is not a human being and has absolutely no ability to feel emotions like love. He has a purpose that he was programmed to do, to obtain love from his mother. He has to do this because he is programmed and when he finally does, he shuts down. I think it's fascinating that the film creates this huge illusion that he's a real boy who has dreams and feels love. In reality he just can't, it states that humanity is irreplaceable. Very dark and Kubrick
